Nobody foresaw the future for British teenager Courtney Hadwin when she auditioned for America’s Got Talent. As she stepped onto the stage, 13-year-old Courtney appeared incredibly shy. She was so nervous that she confessed it to the judges.
Mel B tried to reassure her, saying, “Don’t be nervous. Despite the large audience and stage, you clearly belong here. Give it a try. Best of luck.”
Then Courtney astonished the judges and the audience by performing “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding. Their jaws dropped as they marveled at her extraordinary performance.
By the end of the song, she had already received a standing ovation. Her father watched proudly from behind the scenes with host Tyra Banks. “Bloody hell, Courtney!” exclaimed Simon Cowell, known for his tough critiques. “At first glance, you seemed like a timid young girl, but your singing voice exudes confidence like a lion’s roar. Truly remarkable.”
She sailed through to the live performances after fellow judge Howie Mandel hit the golden buzzer.
Twitter erupted with praise for Courtney’s performance, and she gained numerous new followers. Courtney had previously competed on The Voice Kids UK.
